Open Call for Poetry: Ceasefire Now
In a world filled with conflict and injustice, we believe that poetry can be a powerful tool for raising our voices against oppression and advocating for peace. The "Ceasefire Now" anthology aims to amplify the poetic voices that speak out against all forms of oppression, including but not limited to issues like the genocide against Palestinians and the illegal occupation by Russia in Ukraine. We are inviting poets to submit their work for this anthology, as we firmly believe that poetry has the potential to foster understanding, empathy, and change. I wish this would go without saying, but we only publish work that advocates human rights, not violates them.
Submission Guidelines
Theme: Submissions should address themes related to oppression, social justice, peace, and resistance. We are particularly interested in poetry that explores the experiences of those affected by oppression and the call for change and justice.
No Deadlines: We believe in the organic creation of art and understanding that creativity cannot be constrained by deadlines. As such, we do not have specific submission deadlines. We will let you know when our inbox is filling up nicely, so you will have a final deadline to submit.
FAQ: For answers to common questions about the submission process, guidelines, and the anthology, please visit our website's FAQ section. If you have a question that is not addressed in the FAQ, you are welcome to submit your work without asking the question.
Contact: Due to the nature of being a solo woman-run poetry press, we kindly request that all questions and inquiries be directed to the FAQ section on our website. We are unable to respond to direct messages (DMs) or emails at this time. Please make sure to add our email to your contacts: hello@sundaymorningsattheriver.com
Submission: To submit your work, please follow the guidelines provided on our website. We accept poems of various lengths and styles, and we encourage poets from diverse backgrounds to contribute their voices to this important project. Please use our template.
How to Submit:
Use our form to submit and make sure you use our template to lay out your poetry. We welcome both emerging and established poets to contribute to "Ceasefire Now."
Your poetry has the power to make a difference, to inspire change, and to lend your voice to those who need it most. We look forward to receiving your submissions and, together, working toward a world where peace and justice prevail.
